Our Role: The Local Government\u2019s Commitment to Our Road Network<\/h2>

As the Borama Local Government, the management, maintenance, and expansion of our internal road network is one of our highest priorities and statutory duties.<\/b> We view our role not just as a manager of assets, but as the steward of our community\u2019s connective infrastructure.<\/b><\/p>

Our Actions in Local Road Development:<\/h3>
  • Strategic Planning and Oversight:<\/b> We proactively develop multi-year road development master plans<\/b> and annual work programs to ensure investment is directed to the areas of greatest need, focusing on connectivity, safety, and durability.<\/li>
  • Infrastructure Construction and Improvement:<\/b> We are responsible for constructing new roads<\/b> to open up underserved areas and upgrading existing roads<\/b> (including paving, drainage, and lighting) to all-weather standards that can withstand challenging environmental conditions.<\/li>
  • Routine Maintenance and Repair:<\/b> We have established dedicated departments and resources to conduct regular routine and periodic maintenance<\/b>, including filling potholes, clearing drainage systems, and repairing damage promptly. This vital work is done to protect the public’s investment and extend the lifespan of our roads.<\/li>
  • Sustainable Resource Management:<\/b> We prioritize the efficient use of local tax revenues<\/b> and seek partnerships to secure the necessary funding for major infrastructure projects. By managing our finances prudently, we ensure a sustainable budget for the long-term upkeep of our network.<\/li>
  • Quality and Safety Assurance:<\/b> We ensure that all road projects, whether new construction or maintenance, adhere to strict engineering standards<\/b> to guarantee the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
